WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Classes have started again at Cape Fear Community College and a new course can help students interested in gaming.

The Simulation and Game Development program will begin offering courses in September. Program director Paul Markert said he is excited to teach those courses.

“Two-year Associates course in Game Development. This will enable them to create their own games using Unreal Engine 5 and also explore 3D modeling software like Miya and animation.”

The program is designed to prepare graduates for careers in the software sector, such as design directors, environmental artists, game design consultants, and more. The program also includes courses in 3D modeling, software development, and graphic design.

“There are so many people out there who love games and want to make games. And it’s great to know at least a little bit about how that works and how their favorite hobby works,” said Markert.
