Nike and Phaidon announce the book “Look Good, Feel Good, Play Good: Nike Apparel”

Nike has teamed up with Phaidon to create a brand new book documenting women’s sportswear and its historical significance. The title is Look good, feel good, play well: Nike clothing.

With more than 350 pages and 575 images, the cover aims to illustrate the connection between female athletes and their wardrobe through five archetypes: tracksuits, jerseys, leggings, sports bras and shorts. The book’s images include recreations of early Nike catalogs, vintage and contemporary photographs, sketches, advertisements, color palettes and more.

In addition to the images, the book includes interviews with Nike athletes, coaches and staff, including Sha’Carri Richardson, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Caster Semenya, Joan Benoit Samuelson, Dina Asher-Smith, Sue Bird, Megan Rapinoe, Scout Bassett and Naomi Osaka. In addition, the cover includes essays by Dal Chodha, the editor-in-chief of Archivist Addendum; Michelle Millar Fisher, Wornick Curator of Contemporary Decorative Arts at the Museum of Fine Arts and more.

“Whether you have followed their travels or explored the trends that have shaped women’s sport, Look good, feel good, play well showcases the work Nike designers have done over the past fifty years to revolutionize and advance women’s sports,” said Amy Montagne, vice president of Nike Women.

Look good, feel good, play well: Nike clothing is available now for $89.95 from the Phaidon webstore and will ship in December. Take a first look at the book via the gallery above.
