Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin mocked by LSU coach Brian Kelly over Coke

Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin mocked by LSU coach Brian Kelly over Coke

OXFORD – Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin wasn’t afraid to exchange casual jabs with LSU coach Brian Kelly.

On Wednesday, Kelly sent Kiffin into the game.

Kelly began his weekly press conference with a statement about the benefits of Coca-Cola products.

“It’s great for you,” Kelly said, holding a bottle of Smartwater, which is branded under the Coca-Cola brand. “It’s refreshing. Healthy. Coca-Cola gives you all the products you need, depending on what you like, and I love Smartwater.”

Great, we know Kelly likes expensive water. But what does that have to do with Kiffin?

Well, on Monday, Kiffin picked up a bottle of Coke – which was on the press conference podium for sponsorship reasons – and began analyzing the nutritional information.

“Does anyone drink Coke?” asked Kiffin. “Do you realize that 130% of your sugar needs for the entire day are contained in that one bottle?”

Kiffin said it had been a “long time” since he had had a regular Coke.

“But Chris Low drinks Coke, I know that,” Kiffin said, pointing at the ESPN reporter.
