Etawah (UP): Four members of a family were killed and two others injured when a truck collided with a car in Etawah state in India’s Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, police said.

The deceased were on their way from Delhi to Hamirpir when the fatal incident occurred.

Statement by Dr. Shyam Mohan

Dr Shyam Mohan of the emergency department of the district hospital told ANI, “A truck collided with a car in the Ikdil police station area of ​​Etawah. Four persons from the same family died in the accident and two others were injured. They were travelling from Delhi to Hamirpur by car.”

“Four bodies were admitted to the hospital,” he said.

After receiving this information, the police arrived at the hospital and sent the bodies for autopsy.

A child named Rathi and a woman named Poonam, who were seriously injured in the accident, are being treated at a hospital, Dr Mohan added.

“Further investigations are ongoing,” he added.

According to an official press release, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased. The Chief Minister directed the district administration officials to reach the spot and expedite relief work.

The Chief Minister also directed the officials to take the injured to the hospital and ensure that they receive proper treatment. He wished the injured a speedy recovery.
