The diverse group includes partners from the Connecticut and Long Island offices. The group is comprised of attorneys from all practice areas, including Troy A. Bataille, Brendan T. Fitzpatrick, Erin N. Mackin, Jeffrey Migdalen, Kelly E. Petter and Marvin N. Romero. Troy A. Bataille is the office manager of the firm’s Connecticut location. Troy’s litigation experience is extensive and includes professional liability, employment, medical malpractice, commercial litigation, environmental, product liability, toxic torts, class actions, TCPA, subrogation, construction, transportation, general liability, and appellate litigation. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Professional Liability Underwriters Society (PLUS), Hartford Chapter.
Brendan T. Fitzpatrick leads the firm’s Appellate Advocacy Practice. He is one of the most prominent and successful appellate attorneys in New York State. He has initiated over 800 appeals, tried nearly 500, and obtained reversals or affirmances for his clients in every appellate division in New York State, the New York State Court of Appeals, and the Second District Court of Appeals. He is the Chair of the Amicus Committee of the Defense Association of New York.
Erin N. Mackin represents prominent corporations, municipalities, retailers, and transportation companies in a variety of civil liability claims, including construction and premises liability, sexual offenses, property damage, and automobile accidents. She has extensive experience developing and customizing regional and national solutions to coordinate legal services. She is an active member of the Women’s Bar Association of Nassau County.
Jeff Migdalen is an experienced trial attorney with numerous successful verdicts in state and federal courts. He defends contractors and owners in claims for damages arising from construction site injuries citing New York State labor law. He also regularly represents clients in high-risk personal injury cases involving premises, transportation and product liability.
Kelly E. Petter leads the firm’s Insurance Solutions Practice Group, where she adds value to clients in the areas of specialty insurance programs, loss portfolio transfers, private equity group structures, reinsurance, regulatory issues and transactional aspects of insurance and private equity risk transfer transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, run-off portfolios and corporate liability transfers. She is the second vice president of the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association and is active in CLM.
Marvin N. Romero is the office manager of the firm’s Long Island location. He handles commercial litigation and tort cases for Fortune 500 companies and represents national retailers, real estate owners and individuals. He is an active member of the Hispanic National Bar Association.
