Mercyhurst University

  • Rank 54 among 178 regional universities in the North

  • Rank 115 in the category “Leader in social mobility”

Penn State University Behrend

Penn State Behrend was not ranked among regional universities in the Northern Region. However, among national universities, Penn State University was ranked 60th.

  • 19th place in the category “Best Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Engineering”
  • No. 41 in Economics
  • No. 36 in Best Colleges for Veterans
  • No. 342 in the category “Leader in social mobility”

Pennsylvania Western University

Pennsylvania Western University has three campuses in California, Clarion and Edinboro counties. The university was ranked 135th in the Regional Universities North rankings.

  • No. 49 in best public schools
  • Rank 121 in the category “Leader in social mobility”

Allegheny College at Meadville

No. 75 in National Liberal Arts Colleges

Other notable rankings:

  • No. 80 in the category of schools with the best price-performance ratio
  • No. 23 in the experiences of the first year of study
  • No. 13 in Senior Capstone
  • 32nd place in the category “Best teaching for students”
  • 47th place among the top performers for social mobility

Criteria

The U.S. News rankings evaluated 1,500 colleges and universities on up to 19 criteria for academic quality. This year’s rankings placed a greater emphasis on social mobility and graduate outcomes, according to a U.S. News press release.
