Forecast for Tuesday evening, August 20, 2024:
Quiet weather is expected here in northern Utah tonight, but we’ll see a few lingering thunderstorms over eastern Utah. Temperatures will be hot again tomorrow, with temperatures rising above 90 degrees. A few more thunderstorms are possible over southern and central Utah Wednesday afternoon, mainly east of I15. Winds will also remain gusty this week, as a storm is just off the coast of the Pacific Northwest. Eventually, that storm will draw more moisture into Utah, and western Utah will see some thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday.
Salt Lake City and surrounding areas:
- Tonight: Clear and pleasant. Temperatures will fall to just over 20 degrees.
- Wednesday: sunny and windy. Highs around 35 degrees.
- Wednesday night: Mostly clear and pleasant. Lows around 18 degrees.
- Thursday: Partly cloudy and windy. A few afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Highs in the 90s.
- Friday: Partly cloudy and windy. A few afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Highs in the 90s.
St. George and surrounding area:
- Tonight: Mostly clear skies. Lows around 24 degrees.
- Wednesday: Partly cloudy and windy. A scattered thunderstorm in the east. Highs between 101 and 103.
- Wednesday night: Partly cloudy skies. Isolated thunderstorms possible. Lows around 24 degrees.
