When does the 2024 college football season start?

The 2024 season begins on Saturday, August 24 in this year’s “Week Zero.” Most Division I programs in the country begin their seasons the following week.

The 2024 season will be the 11th edition of the College Football Playoff and the first in the 12-team format.
