Machine Gun Kelly has spoken openly about his battle with addiction, revealing how a difficult conversation with his 15-year-old daughter Casie forced him to get sober.

In the episode of Sunday, August 18, Game worth millions of dollars Podcast, MGK (real name Colson Baker) recalled the moment that changed everything.

“It started with my daughter saying, ‘Daddy, do you know I can tell when you’re high?’ It broke my heart,” said the “Emo Girl” singer. Casie was only 11 or 12 years old at the time. “It was the ultimate disappointment.”

“It took a while after that because drugs obviously have a strong hold on you,” he continued. “That was the first step for me. As a father and as a man, I have to break this generational curse for my child to be the father that my father would have been.”

Earlier this month, Baker reported on his turning point after a year of abstinence at Bunnie XO’s Stupid blonde Podcasts.

“I’m completely sober. I don’t drink anymore. I haven’t had a drink since last August,” he claimed. MGK quietly entered rehabilitation after completing his European tour in 2023, battling alcohol, cannabis and pills.

“They showed me so many ways to deal with my body, to show me where that anger was coming from and ways to suppress it,” he described. He also thanked his future wife Megan Fox for her support during the healing process, saying, “Megan was definitely a huge help in dealing with the mental withdrawal symptoms that come with (abstinence).”

Reflecting on his father’s struggles, MGK revealed on the Stupid blonde Podcast how much his family’s past has influenced him: “My father suffered the worst crap a child can experience and I can only imagine.”

Machine Gun Kelly’s determination to break the cycle of dependency and hurt in his family is clear: “As a father and as a man, I have to break this generational curse for my child to be the father I believe my father would have been.”

In July, the honorable papa celebrated Casie’s 15th birthday with a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, sharing moments from their life together. “The world spins but when I look at you it stops. Happy 15th princess,” he captioned a collection of sweet images.
