68-year-old woman from Toledo performs on stage with LUDACRIS

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Toledo woman is still at a loss for words after meeting her favorite rapper, LUDACRIS.

Mary Links, 68, of Toledo, better known as “Aunt M,” landed onstage alongside LUDACRIS at his concert at the Monroe Co. Fair on Saturday night.

“It’s still unbelievable,” Links said.

It all started with a TikTok video posted by Link’s niece Anna Mills, showing her family getting her tickets to the LUDACRIS concert for her birthday.

The famous rapper and his “team” contacted Mills after coming across the video.

“They sent us merchandise and gave us backstage passes,” Mills said.

“Aunt M has loved LUDACRIS for decades. She says she discovered his music on long car rides through the mountains.

“I heard this song, LUDA was on it with some other guys called Yeah,” Links said. “I had to laugh and started listening to more of his songs.”

His music even helped her get through a long hospital stay for COVID-19.

“He saved my life there,” Links said.

Links had the best time of her life at the LUDACRIS concert on Saturday and says it was the moments leading up to it that meant the most to her.

“He came in and sang Happy Birthday,” Links said. “It’s really everything I could have dreamed of, and so we hugged and I’ll never forget how that felt.”

Mills says she owes her experience largely to the power of social media.

“With TikTok, their paths were able to not only cross, but also get to know each other, sit together and have a drink,” Mills said. “She was able to meet someone who meant so much to her and took the time to get to know her.”

“I am eternally grateful to him and his music,” said Links.
