T-Rex fans with small arms and big dreams met in Washington state this week to compete for the big title at Emerald Downs.
The T-Rex World Championship races held in Auburn attracted over 200 dinosaur fans who completed the 100-meter race in full costume.

According to Emerald Downs, nearly 6,000 people took part in the day’s festivities.
According to a Facebook post from Emerald Downs, separate races were held for dinosaurs of all ages, stating: “We have races for ‘Kids’ Dinos,’ ‘Dinosaurs’ Dinos (ages 50 and up), Dinos Ladies and Dinos Men.”
Big winners of the day included Cheyn Tam-Switzer in the men’s race, Paislie Thompson in the women’s race and someone listed only as “Bob” won the 50 plus category.

Among the children, “Royce” was the champion of the race in the age group 11 and under and Josias Colin took the prize in the category 12-16.
Budding T-Rexes can register for the races on the Emerald Downs website and, if they so desire, even purchase a costume in the gift shop on race day.
