Obama among the speakers on the second day of the Democratic Party Convention

President Biden has officially passed the baton to his Vice President Kamala Harris. His legacy was honored on the first day of the Democratic Party Convention in Chicago. From Tuesday onwards, the focus will be more on the future.

Organizers of the convention said they would highlight the differences between the vision of the Harris-Walz campaign and that of the Trump-Vance contingent. Speakers scheduled to include Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, as well as former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Here are some highlights to watch on Tuesday night:

Traditionally, there will also be a roll call at the convention – but this year it is even more symbolic than most. The delegates have already cast their votes for Vice President Harris as the party’s candidate.

The candidates are also taking their message beyond the convention hall on Tuesday. Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, will be in Milwaukee for an evening rally. Both Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and vice presidential candidate JD Vance are holding press conferences about crime in Michigan and Wisconsin, respectively.

The program will air live from the United Center in Chicago on all TPR news channels from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. CST.

Several Texans cast their votes on the first day of the convention.
