90 Day Fiancé Cast members Devin and Ashley shocked viewers with their significant weight loss in the first part of the tell-all show, which aired on Sunday. Ashley said she had lost an incredible 90 pounds, and although Devin didn’t talk about her weight loss in the first part of the show, the change was obvious.
Ashley appeared first in the reveal video, looking incredible in an emerald green one-shoulder dress, proudly telling the cameras that she had “lost a lot of weight.”
“101 pounds, to be exact,” she said as she spun in circles.
Earlier this month, Ashley posted on Instagram how she stays motivated to go to the gym.
Regarding her and Manuel’s well-being, Ashley said that there were ups and downs even after the wedding.
“Communication between Manuel and me has been a gamble since the wedding,” she said. “He’s a tough man. I’m not the easiest woman. We’re both pretty difficult people who fell in love and are now coming to terms with it.”
Later, her mother and sister appeared during the reveal to emotionally share their worries about Ashley and Manuel’s marriage. Ashley’s mother revealed that she sometimes helped them out financially, even going as far as sending money to Manuel’s family in Ecuador, which has been an issue between Ashley and Manuel this season. For his part, Manuel said he never wanted to “be a burden” and explained why he was so critical of Ashley’s spending habits, like buying coffee when she has coffee at home and other such small luxuries. Manuel said he was used to struggling financially, and Ashley’s mother said she never considered that perspective. Manuel’s colleagues encouraged him to open up more to Ashley and her family, and by the end of the segment, they were all able to come to a better understanding.
Backstage, Ashley’s family said they felt better with Manuel. Manuel, on the other hand, clearly had affection for his mother-in-law. When cast member Rob – who has major problems getting along with his own mother-in-law – said Manuel was lucky to have a family like Ashley, Manuel replied, “How can you not love that woman? Tell me. She’s a sweetheart.”
As for Devin, she will talk about her weight loss in the second part of the reveal, but in the preview she admitted that she has lost a considerable amount of weight. During this season of 90 Day Fiancéher current husband Nick was criticized for calling her “Piggy” because he thought she was chubby. Devin and Nick, who is from South Korea, got married this season.
“She’s thin now, much thinner, but I still call her Piggy,” Nick said defiantly as he told everything.
When host Shaun Robinson asked Devin if her weight loss was affected by Nick’s nickname – which, unsurprisingly, still bothers her parents extremely – she hesitated, while Nick seemed annoyed.
When they arrived at the reveal, Devin said she was excited to be able to stand up for herself as she has been “very quiet” all season. Meanwhile, Nick told the camera, “I’m ready to defend myself against criticism from other people. I don’t listen to losers who try to attack me. I don’t listen to them.”
