predecessor is a highly anticipated MOBA from Omeda Studios. After an early access beta, the game has finally received its version 1.0 and the release date trailer caused a stir at Gamescom 2024.
Omeda Studios took over remnants of Epic Games’ discarded Example Game and turned predecessor into a MOBA that is based on Unreal Engine 5 for the first time and looks amazing. The game is a MOBA at its core, but also a mix of third-person shooters, making it a unique title that stands out from the crowd.
Previous trailer illuminated Gamescom 2024
Omega Studios released a release date trailer at Gamescom 2024 that featured a mix of cinematics and real gameplay.
Although the trailer was only a minute and a half long, it was enough to lighten the atmosphere with its bright color aesthetic, various heroes and abilities ranging from melee to elemental magic. In addition, the unmatched soundtrack heated up the atmosphere even further.
We watched various heroes use their ultimate abilities, weave through parts of the map, and capture enemy bases – a standard in any MOBA game.
However, this third-person action fighting game is different from all other MOBAs.
Based on the Unreal Engine 5, it is the first of its kind and surpasses many other games on the market. The gameplay is smoother than ever and the heroes are full of little details that make them so unique.
The predecessor was born from the ashes of Paragon
Robbie Singh founded Omeda Studios in 2020 and worked on the overhaul Example to create a completely new game. The new and improved version is packed with exciting characters, maps, game mechanics and more and was ultimately named predecessor.
The game launches with 35 different heroes, each with unique abilities that are both passive and active, as well as the ultimate ability that can be game-changing for some.
The trailer offered a small taste of the action that this game offers to fans of these genres, creating a new, never-before-seen experience.
Thanks to the Unreal Engine 5, the game has a modern feel, unlike League of Legends or another industry is large, DOTA2including a mix of looter/shooter games.
The evolution of the genre would not be complete without the crossplay feature. This means that the game is available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5, allowing players to switch between platforms.
Like any other standard MOBA, this one will offer a lot of rewards, including custom skins for players earn or buy with game currency.
