As Formula 1’s summer break comes to an end ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, Kelly Piquet and three-time world champion Max Verstappen are reunited.

Piquet had shared various snapshots during the summer break without Verstappen in the team, but the two now seem to be enjoying the sun and enjoying the champion’s last days off before heading to Zandvoort.

Verstappen had a mixed season in 2024, taking a phenomenal seven wins in the first 14 races and leading the Drivers’ Championship, but struggling with his RB20 in the final races.

The Dutchman expressed his frustrations in radio rants against his team, most recently during a Disaster at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Verstappen is likely to have benefited from the summer break, which has so far spanned the entire month of August and allowed him and the other drivers to recharge their batteries.

Verstappen took part in numerous activities during his summer break, including bathing with a rubber duck in pictures that appeared on his Instagram page.

While he was apparently training with Red Bull and keeping fit at their base in Milton Keynes, his partner Piquet was relaxing on a stunning Portuguese beach.

Piquet is a Brazilian model and the granddaughter of another three-time F1 world champion, Nelson Piquet.

While it looked like Piquet and her daughter were enjoying their holiday without Verstappen in tow, the Dutchman now seems to have joined his partner.

In Piquet’s Instagram story, Verstappen was seen jumping into the sea and posing for a photo with his partner at sunset, apparently in the “golden hour”.

Verstappen will be hoping for more golden moments on track when the season resumes next weekend at his home track in Zandvoort.
