Due to the overwhelming response to its 87th concert series, the Thomasville Entertainment Foundation of Thomasville, Georgia, can no longer offer season ticket subscriptions for the Complete or Variations series, and there is now a waiting list for the Vienna Boys’ Choir’s performance of “Christmas in Vienna.”
Season tickets are still available for TEF’s Classics Series, and individual tickets for the remaining five concerts will go on sale to the public from August 26.
“It’s a great problem and we hate to turn anyone away,” said Rick Ivey, TEF’s Executive & Artistic Director. “But the response from both our season ticket holders renewing and new subscribers has been very enthusiastic and seating has become very scarce.”
The season opens on September 24th with an evening featuring two-time Tony Award winner and Broadway leading man Brian Stokes Mitchell, followed by the acclaimed international piano trio Trio Con Brio Copenhagen on October 15th.
On December 17, the popular Vienna Boys’ Choir will take to the TEF stage, and the all-male a cappella vocal ensemble New York Polyphony is planning a program of early and modern music for January 23.
On February 18, jazz trumpeter and singer Byron Stripling’s jazz quartet will offer an evening of Mardi Gras music from New Orleans, and TEF’s series of events will conclude on March 11 with a unique pairing of the renowned Escher String Quartet with classical guitarist Jason Vieaux.
