F1 star Max Verstappen looked in love on Tuesday as he cuddled up to his girlfriend Kelly Piquet.
In a snap shared on Instagram, the two lovebirds are beaming with joy as they pose for a sun-drenched boat selfie during their vacation in Portugal.
26-year-old racing driver Max was all smiles in his beige flannel T-shirt, while 35-year-old Brazilian model and PR expert Kelly looked tanned and beautiful in a white camisole top that she paired with multiple necklaces and earrings.
She wore her glossy chocolate brown locks in a side part and accentuated her features with telescoping mascara and muted eyeshadow.
Max’s fans and friends rushed to share their thoughts in the comments section, with one writing: “Love you both so much!”, a second chimed in: “Best couple in F1!” and a third sweetly adding: “YOU SMILE.”
His photos also included a picture of himself chasing a dog on the sandy beach and a third and final snap of a delicious looking Mexican spread.
While Max tends to keep details of his private life private, he mentioned Kelly in a candid conversation with Blick. On the subject of marriage, he told the magazine: “Marry? Me? Now you’ve publicly pressured me to name a date. I don’t know, time will tell.”
“At the moment I am very, very happy with Kelly. But personally I have no timetable for when I will get down on one knee in front of her. Everything should happen spontaneously.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Max revealed that a marriage proposal might be on the cards one day. When asked if he would pop the question, he said: “Like I said, I don’t know. The right day will come when we feel like we can put our relationship on paper.”
Kelly’s connection to racing goes beyond her current boyfriend. Her father Nelson Piquet and brother Nelson Jr. are both F1 drivers, while her ex-boyfriend is F1 racer Daniil Kvyat. Kelly and Daniil have a daughter together named Penelope in 2019.
The former couple were together from January 2019 until their separation in December 2019.
Reflecting on her family’s sporting careers, Kelly said: “I’ve always been very involved in my brother’s career. I’ve seen the ups and downs and what pressure does to someone.”
“This world is so familiar to me, I know what these guys go through. But I’ve actually had friends outside of the racing world! My longest relationship was with someone in the financial world, so I know there’s more to it than the racetrack.”
