Microsoft announces Xbox Game Pass lineup for August 2024 Wave 2

Microsoft announces Xbox Game Pass lineup for August 2024 Wave 2

Microsoft has announced the second wave of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in August 2024, which includes access to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 open beta.

Atlas Fallen is perhaps the biggest full-length title of this wave as an open-world action RPG. Starting August 22, players can explore a vast desert and battle terrifying beasts in a revamped campaign that arrived alongside the Reign of Sand update. “Atlas Fallen is a solid open-world action RPG with plenty of platforming elements and big monsters to fight with a co-op buddy, as long as neither of you cares about the story or cares about high-quality textures,” IGN said in our 7/10 launch review.

Core Keeper will be available on August 27th. Here, players take on the role of an explorer who is drawn to a mysterious relic in a 2D survival sandbox. “Build, construct and explore in a dynamic world,” says the synopsis. “Develop your character, uncover ancient secrets and take part in exciting cooperative or competitive games. Accept the challenge and unravel the mysteries that await you.”

Star Trucker, out September 3, puts a new spin on the truck driving simulator genre by sending players into space. “Transport cargo, trade salvage, and keep your spacesuit with you as you seek fame and fortune among the stars in a game that puts an interstellar twist on the truck simulation genre,” the description reads.

Xbox Game Pass August 2024 Wave 2 Lineup

Available from August 28-30, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 open beta otherwise requires a pre-order of the game, but Xbox Game Pass members can also access it. It will be available to download on August 28, and certain rewards will carry over to the full game when it launches on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

Some games will also be leaving Xbox Game Pass on August 31st, but those who want to keep playing after that can save 20% off the full price by purchasing the games while they’re still available on the subscription service.

Everything that’s leaving Xbox Game Pass on August 31

  • Atomic Heart (Cloud, Console and PC)
