The Indiana Pacers’ schedule for the 2024-25 season has been released, and it’s unique. Between a trip to Paris and alternating difficult and easier stretches, it’s a fascinating 80-game slate.
Indiana’s four preseason games were also announced, and 14 games will be nationally televised next season. The team’s status comes from winning, and their run to the Eastern Conference Finals last season means the blue and gold will get even more attention this year.
Many of the Pacers’ duels will be in the spotlight, but five of them stand out in particular.
Indiana Pacers at New York Knicks, Friday, October 25
This game is only the second of the season for the Blue and Gold, but it will be exciting. Indiana defeated New York in the second round of the 2024 playoffs and it was a dramatic series.
The best-of-seven set went to seven games, and the Pacers won the seventh game in New York – beating a struggling Knicks team and securing a spot in the Eastern finals. The team in the Big Apple can’t have been happy about not winning.
The Knicks want revenge and welcome the blue and gold ESPN early in the season. It will be an intense duel.
Indiana Pacers at Boston Celtics, Wednesday, October 30
Speaking of postseason rematches, the Pacers will get their first chance to face the Boston team that eliminated them in the Eastern Conference finals earlier this season.
The Celtics swept Indiana, and while some games were close, the result is all anyone remembers. Plus, the Celtics won the title – they’ll be a target all season.
The Blue-Goldens will try to get revenge early in the season. This game will also be played on ESPN.
Indiana Pacers at Milwaukee Bucks, Friday, November 22
The Pacers and Bucks have played many exciting games during the regular season, which has led to a certain rivalry in the Central Division. Indiana beat Milwaukee many times last year, including in the semifinals of the in-season tournament, which has added to the tension.
Then they met in the first round of the playoffs. Indiana won that series in six games, but the Bucks will be ready for the Pacers this year. The duels will be exciting.
The first of these will take place on November 22nd and is an in-season tournament game. It will be worth watching and it will be ESPN.
Indiana Pacers vs Los Angeles Lakers, Wednesday, March 26
The Lakers beat the Pacers in the in-season tournament title game last season, and the Pacers won’t forget that. It was one of the most important games of last season for Indiana, and they were overwhelmed by LA’s greatness.
This year they will meet in Indianapolis. ESPN late in the season. It will be a chance for the Blue-Goldens to defeat their arch-enemy and show their growth late in the season. It is also Indiana’s last game on ESPN the list for 2024–25.
Indiana Pacers vs Golden State Warriors, Friday, January 10
The Pacers host the Warriors in early 2025, and the opponent alone carries enormous weight. Golden State is popular and has Steph Curry, who is always a big draw for fans.
This year, Pacers-Warriors will attract more attention not only because of the opponent, but also more excitement. It will be the first time Buddy Hield returns to Indianapolis since he was traded away in February. He has never played against Tyrese Haliburton in the NBA.
