Bengals injury updates on Trent Brown, Sam Hubbard and Jake Browning

Bengals injury updates on Trent Brown, Sam Hubbard and Jake Browning

As we enter the final week of the NFL preseason, several key Cincinnati Bengals players are back on the practice field.

Trent Brown, who left the team’s training session in Chicago last week due to back problems, was present at Monday’s meeting.

In addition, Sam Hubbard returned to training with great excitement. He suffered a knee injury in the first week of training camp and had been out of action since then.

Backup quarterback Jake Browning remains out with a rib injury and it is unclear when he will return to practice.

Brown is expected to start at right tackle, especially after Amarius Mims suffered a pectoral injury that will keep him out of action for several weeks. There was no update on when Mims might return.

After such a long layoff, Hubbard is expected to sit out Thursday’s final preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts. Brown could play if the Bengals decide to use Joe Burrow and other starters. Zac Taylor has not yet decided whether any starters will play Thursday.

One final note: Kendric Pryor suffered a finger injury in Saturday’s preseason loss to the Chicago Bears. Pryor is now wearing a splint and is not expected to practice this week.
