What is included in the LEGO Harry Potter Borgin and Burkes set?
The LEGO Harry Potter Borgin and Burke’s Floo set is a fantastic 190-piece building set and offers a unique addition to any LEGO® Harry Potter collection. This set costs AU$29.99 and includes an exciting Lucius Malfoy minifigure. Those familiar with the Diagon Alley set 75978 will recognize that this Lucius Malfoy minifigure is quite similar, but with one notable difference – this version does not have leg printing.
A closer look at the build
The centrepiece of the LEGO Harry Potter Borgin and Burkes Floo set is a detailed fireplace, complete with a clever mechanism that lets you rotate the Lucius Malfoy minifigure into the fireplace, effectively hiding him from view. This feature brings to life the mysterious and shadowy nature of Borgin and Burkes, a shop known for trading in dark and dangerous magical objects.
Additionally, the set includes a small stack of shelves containing various magical products. Among these is the infamous Hand of Glory, a dark artefact that allows its wearer to find their way in total darkness. This stack of shelves can be connected to the main fireplace model, adding to the overall presentation and playability of the set.
Possible connections to other LEGO Harry Potter sets
The reveal of this new LEGO Harry Potter Borgin and Burke’s Floo set follows the earlier announcement of the LEGO Harry Potter The Burrow Collector’s Edition (76437). However, details of this set have mysteriously been removed from the official store. I’ll talk more about it in a separate post.
The timing of the release of the Borgin and Burkes set suggests that there may be a connection between these two sets, but it is important to note that the description only mentions that the Borgin and Burkes set complements The Burrow set, and is not directly connected to it.
A history of connected sets
This would not be the first time that LEGO has released a GWP set that follows on from a larger Harry Potter model. Last year’s Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collector’s Edition (76417) came with the Gringotts Vault (40598) as a GWP connection. However, it seems that the connection between the GWP set LEGO Harry Potter Borgin and Burke’s Floo (40695) and the next big Harry Potter set is not as clear as with the Gringotts Vault.
What’s next for LEGO Harry Potter?
We’re currently still waiting for more detailed information on the LEGO Harry Potter The Burrow Collectors’ Edition (76437) and how it relates to the LEGO Harry Potter Borgin and Burke’s Floo (40695) set. LEGO has been keeping fans on their toes with these teasers and the anticipation is building.
