The Umbrella Academy Season 4 offers an eventful conclusion to one of the most exciting Netflix series of recent years. The series has always been enhanced by its multiple timelines, alien races, and dysfunctional sibling dynamics. The series focuses on the Hargreeves family and tells the story of adopted siblings whose mysterious births have created a bond that can either save or destroy the world. After causing and fighting multiple apocalypses over the course of three seasons, the Hargreeves’ story finally ends in The Umbrella Academy Season 4.

There are a few things to note in season 4 compared to previous seasons. The Umbrella Academy Season 3 ended with the Hargreeves in a new timeline where they didn’t have their powers, causing the characters to go down different paths. Season 4 offers an in-depth exploration of this new timeline and shows how the siblings have changed without their powers. The build-up was fascinating, and although the show’s final season has fewer episodes than the rest – 6 episodes versus 10 – the story never felt rushed.

Characters develop in interesting ways

The Umbrella Academy Season 4 explores what has happened to the Hargreeves since the family split up at the end of season 3. Without their powers, the characters have to take on normal jobs, which leads to some funny scenes and sad moments at the beginning. It was exciting to see that even with a smaller number of episodes The Umbrella Academy took the time to focus on character development as well as the big action scenes we expected.

It was great to finally delve deeper into the character’s role in this world and see more of Ben’s interactions with his old/new family.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3 offered a counterpoint to the Hargreeves in the form of the Sparrow Academy. This storyline resulted in the Sparrow version of Ben sticking around. It was a great decision as Ben will play a major role in the show’s final season. It was nice to finally delve deeper into the character’s role in this world and see more of Ben’s interaction with his old/new family. The Umbrella Academy In Season 4, every character had the chance to shine before saying goodbye.

Every season of The Umbrella Academy has rotated the few family members that have been more of a focus, with one notable exception. Aidan Gallagher’s Five is always in the thick of the season’s biggest stories, and as someone who thinks the character is the best on the show, I was happy to see Five play a key role in Season 4. Still, there are plenty of standout characters, with Lila, Diego, and Luther having the arcs I enjoyed the most after Five and Ben’s.

Newcomers play an important role in the emotional ending of the Umbrella Academy

While the family remains the focus of the series, The Umbrella Academy Season 4 has some excellent new additions that keep things exciting. Nick Offerman as Gene Thibodeau and Megan Mullally as Jean Thibodeau bring to life quirky villains who play a role in major events throughout the season. The husband and wife duo lead the Keepers, a group that comes together because they believe they are all living in the wrong timeline and have even collected evidence of this.

All characters get a chance to shine, some fan-favorite pairings are explored again, and some very interesting dynamics develop between some characters.

David Cross’s Sy Grossman plays a key role in bringing the Umbrella Academy back together, and delivers an entertaining and unpredictable performance to boot. Victoria Sawal is instantly charming in her role as Jennifer, with the character playing a key role in Season 4. Liisa Repo-Martell’s Abigail Hargreeves also returns to stir up trouble in Season 4. Abigail is the wife of Reginald Hargreeves and lives in this timeline. Abigail and Reginald’s different approaches to the Hargreeves siblings are one of the highlights of the season.

Despite a shorter season The Umbrella Academy Season 4 doesn’t rush through the story and brings the series to a strong conclusion. All characters are in the spotlight, some of the most popular pairings are re-explored, and some very intriguing dynamics develop between some characters. The Umbrella AcademyThe ending of is epic, bittersweet, heartfelt and, above all, fitting. Expect an action-packed, hilarious and emotional final season in which the story of the Hargreeves family comes to a beautiful end.
