Former Laker attacks Kevin Durant in epic rant

Former Laker attacks Kevin Durant in epic rant

Despite the challenges along the way, Team USA eventually managed to prevail and win the gold medal at the Paris Olympics. Led by LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, Team USA won its fifth consecutive Olympic Games. However, the behavior of one team member afterward was criticized.

Kevin Durant shared a photo of the team after their gold medal game win over France with the caption “high IQ and entertainment.” This was a dig at former Lakers point guard Dennis Schröder, who had previously said that European basketball was “not entertainment, it’s high IQ basketball.” Schröder, the starting point guard for the German national team, had won the Basketball World Cup last year and made it to the semifinals of the Olympics before losing to France.

Now he’s taking the argument with Durant to the next level. In his response to Durant’s reaction, Schröder called the former MVP “a weak person.”

Schröder said his original comment was not meant to be negative or critical, but instead he seems genuinely confused as to why Durant felt the need to attack him after his win.

“I respect all those guys, all the GOATs, but to say that shows me how weak he is as a person. It is what it is. Not everyone is strong, not everyone is in a good place.”

The 30-year-old point guard played twice with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020-21 and 2022-23, playing a key role on both playoff teams. He signed with the Toronto Raptors in the 2023 offseason, but finished last year’s season with the Brooklyn Nets. He remains one of the better guard defenders in the league and has an extremely effective drive game on offense.
