14-year-old arrested after fight at Calvary Day and Beach High School football game

SAVANNAH, Georgia (WTOC) – Chaos broke out in the crowd at a high school football game in Savannah, forcing players to leave the field early.

The incident occurred Friday during the Calvary Day game between Beach High School.

This is not the first time that such a situation has occurred.

This is the third year in a row that a Friday night football game in Savannah has been abruptly ended due to a fight in the crowd.

Each time, a private school played against a public school.

Monday afternoon was quiet on Calvary Day, but on Friday the situation was completely different.

Savannah-Chatham Public School officials told WTOC that an altercation broke out under the home team’s stands around halftime.

This led to several more fights in spectator areas, including in a parking lot, where Savannah police said a 14-year-old was arrested and charged with obstruction and loitering.

The officials decided to abandon the rest of the game.

A similar situation occurred last year in a game between Benedictine Military School and Jenkins High.

According to police, a TikTok challenge gone wrong led to a fight in the stands.

In 2022, when the same two teams met, a security alarm caused chaos in the stands.

It is important to note that according to school officials, no players were involved in the incident between Calvary Day and Beach High.

Savannah-Chatham promises to hold all students who may have been involved in the unrest accountable.

We have contacted Calvary Day staff several times and have not heard anything.
