The readers will turn around about the new Black Rose auction series, in which popular childhood fairy tales are given a decidedly adult remake.

The Black Rose auction series is the brainchild of Bonkers Romance, an initiative that, according to the co-founders, was born out of Katee Robert and Jenny Nordbak’s “desire to support authors who make fearless choices and write for joy.” Their goal is to highlight authors whose work may not otherwise find a solid platform, and to create special hardcover editions and giveaways to promote their books.

“When we set out to create the Black Rose Auction series, we knew we wanted it to be luxurious, dangerous and sexy,” Robert tells PEOPLE in a statement. “The premise is that there is an annual auction run by the mysterious Reaper where anything can be bought for the right price… In these six books, you’ll find dangerous men, powerful women and a heist or two!”

The six books in the series are all standalone, but all deal with the Black Rose auction at some point in the story. These books include Evil persecution by Robert, Divine Intervention by RM Virtues, Stolen Vows by Sav R. Miller, Irresistible devil by Nordbak, Shattered innocence by Sara Cate and Royal Heart by Nana Malone.

“I’m thrilled to have Sav R. Miller on board, best known for her Monsters & Muses series, which reinterprets Greek myths in a dark romance setting,” says Robert about the project’s participants. “She contributed a wonderfully sexy remix of the Rapunzel fairytale to our project. Next up was Nana Malone with a fun take on Beauty and the Beast, which follows on from her popular Winston Isles Royals series.”

“Jenny Nordbak, my partner at Bonkers Romance, wrote a truly inspired remix of Rumpelstiltskin that I’ll talk about until I die,” the author continues. “RM Virtues is another author who loves retellings of Greek myths with his Gods of Hunger series, and his contribution was a hot and spicy remix of Goldilocks with angels and demons. Our final author is Sara Cate, who wrote the hugely popular Salacious Players Club series and gave us a wild and angsty remix of Cinderella.”

The six hardcover editions are only available to campaign supporters, but the e-book versions will be released on Kindle Unlimited on February 25. Sourcebooks Casablanca will publish three flipbook volumes in February 2025, June 2025, and October 2025. They are all available for pre-order now wherever books are sold.
