The War Within DPS Rankings with Individual Ratings
Before we dive into the list, it’s important to note that this attempts to cover the class and specs overall as DPS in both Mythic+ and Raid. We’ll be releasing more specific tier lists at a later date, so be sure to check back!

- S: Absolutely crazy.
- A: Very, very good.
- B: Good decisions.
- C: Could be better.
- D: Really needs to be refreshed.

Augmentation continues to be one of the best, if not the best, specialization in the game thanks to its incredible utility and ability to not only buff allies but also keep them alive. Pressing higher M+ buttons makes Augmentation nearly indispensable.
Frost Death Knight has been absolutely incredible in recent updates and that continues in The War Within. It’s time for Death Knights to take the spotlight again.
Elemental Shaman was good for much of Dragonflight, but heading into The War Within, it might be the best in a long time. If you’ve been wanting to try it out, now might be the time.
Once you get past S rank, there are a lot of good to very good options and honestly it depends more on what fits your playstyle or feels good to you than anything else.
After that, there’s a slight drop off in The War Within’s DPS rankings with some less stellar picks in C with Devastation and Destruction Warlock. It’s not until you get to Fire Mage that buffs are much needed. When you weigh that up with Arcane and Frost, both of which are great picks, Mage is still a great choice.
