Fortnite makes purchasing cosmetics easier with the Web Shop, an online store that acts as an extension of the in-game item shop.
In addition to its unforgiving gameplay, Fortnite is known for its collaborations with artists, movies, and other video games. Many of these items are only available for a short time, creating a sense of urgency for players to purchase them before they’re gone forever.
This results in casual players often missing out on the chance to grab popular skins, putting them out of reach for those who don’t visit the store often.
Now Epic Games is optimizing the in-game shopping experience for those who don’t play Fortnite regularly.
What is the Fortnite webshop?
The Fortnite Web Shop is an out-of-game item shop that players can access from any device. The shop goes live on August 19th and can be accessed via this link.
Each item is listed along with the V-Bucks required to purchase it. Click on the skin you want to view its details and see how much time you have left to grab it before it disappears from the store.
Click “Sign in to purchase” to purchase a skin and add your account information. Once you’re signed in, you’ll also be able to see your account balance, which can help you make better financial decisions in Fortnite.
With Fortnite Web Shop, players don’t have to sit at their computer and launch Fortnite to purchase an exclusive, limited-time item. Simply visit the website from any device or browser and view live items. Epic Games explains Web Shop as an extension of the Item Shop, meaning everything works similarly to the in-game store.
The Fortnite Web Shop will have all of the day’s items live, including outfits, pickaxes, gliders, emotes, battle passes, and anything you’d see in the regular in-game shop. Players can also use Creator Codes to get discounts.
