This year, Modest Mouse celebrates his 20th anniversary since the release of his fourth studio album. Good news for people who love bad newsTo mark the occasion, the band have announced their intention to pay homage to the record with a comprehensive tour, honoring the groundbreaking set that contributed to their mainstream success, which includes the five-times platinum single “Float On,” the gold-certified “The World At Large” and “Ocean Breathes Salty,” among others.
The anniversary tour is scheduled to kick off on October 28, 2024 in the Republic of Honolulu, Hawaii. Back on the mainland, Modest Mouse will make their tour up the West Coast, starting at the Paramount Theater in Seattle before heading to their current hometown of Portland, Oregon, where they will perform three consecutive nights at Revolution Hall from November 1-3. On their journey south, the band performed at the stunning Fox Theater in Oakland, California, followed by another three-parter, this time on the Bellwether stage in Los Angeles from November 6-8.
Modest Mouse will play one final West Coast show at The Sound in San Diego on November 9. From there, the band will travel through the Midwest, making stops in Denver (November 11), Omaha, Nebraska (November 12) and Milwaukee, Wisconsin (November 13) before a one-night stand at The Salt Shed in Chicago. They will next play the Fillmore in Detroit before a one-off stop at HISTORY in Toronto on November 17.
Formally on the East Coast, Modest Mouse will continue their Grammy-nominated run with additional shows in Boston (Nov. 19), Philadelphia (Nov. 20) and a final three-show in Brooklyn, NY, scheduled for Nov. 21-23 at Brooklyn Steel.
Good news for people who love bad news has quickly propelled Modest Mouse to success, thanks in part to the efforts of band members Isaac Brock, Dann Gallucci, Eric Judy and Benjamin Weikel, as well as notable contributions from Tom Peloso, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and The Flaming Lips. Earlier this year, the band released a digital expanded edition of the 20th anniversary set with eight bonus tracks, including brand new remixes from Poolside, Jacknife Lee, Dan the Automator, Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT and others. Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 23rd at 10:00 a.m. local time. For more information, visit modestmouse.com.
