The next few weeks will be crucial for the Texas football team as it recruits players for the 2025 class. Texas has five commitments among its top recruiting targets for this cycle through the end of August.

Over the next 10 days or so, the Longhorns will experience what could be a class-defining period for the Class of 2025 because of how important these five upcoming decisions are. It feels like the Longhorns need to commit at least half of these five recruits with the upcoming Class of 2025 announcements.

Texas currently has commitments from 16 recruits in the 2025 class and is ranked 12th in the nation in the 247Sports Composite Class rankings.

If the Longhorns get at least two of the five pledges scheduled for the next two weeks to complete August on the recruiting trail before kickoff, they would be in a pretty good position for this cycle through the fall. If they get at least 18 or 19 pledges for the 2025 class through the fall, the Longhorns would also be on track for another possible top-five finish in the national class rankings for this cycle.

It is also worth noting that we will wait until late August or early September for one or two more possible decisions from key targets for Texas in the class of 2025.

However, the majority of the important decisions for the Longhorns in the class of 2025 will be made in the next seven days. All but one of the planned commitments will be made by next Saturday.
