Max Verstappen with girlfriend Kelly Piquet and Penelope squashes all breakup rumors while enjoying the day at the beach

Rumors about Max Verstappen’s relationship with Kelly Piquet continue to be a recurring theme in 2024. Piquet posted a cryptic remark about his life on Instagram, fueling speculation that the two are in stormy waters. However, the 35-year-old’s Instagram photo and video dump has put an end to all speculation.

Verstappen and her daughter Penelope are enjoying a beach holiday, according to Piquet’s recent post. Several Twitter users (now X) have posted passionate comments on these photos.

Rumors of a split between Verstappen and Piquet first emerged in the last week of July. Piquet had been in Brazil for her sister’s wedding. However, the reigning Formula 1 champion did not accompany his girlfriend, which caused an uproar. When Kelly’s brother accompanied her instead, speculation arose that the four-year romance had come to an end.

However, Piquet’s latest update has effectively ended any such discussions. Verstappen continues to hold a special place in Penelope’s life, as shown in a snap of her holding his hand.

Verstappen, Kelly and Penelope were enjoying a well-deserved holiday in beautiful Portugal. They were travelling with friends, including Antonio Felix da Costa, a Formula E racing driver. The latter posted a group photo featuring Verstappen. He also uploaded an Instagram video of Kelly showing Max falling into the sea. Verstappen’s girlfriend also posted a video of her with her lover.

Now that his holiday is over, Verstappen can turn all his focus to defending his title. After failing to win a race in his last four attempts, the Dutchman will be desperate to get back on the top step of the podium.

Formula 1 returns this weekend with the Dutch Grand Prix and Verstappen will be hoping for a convincing win in front of his home crowd. After three previous wins in the Netherlands, the 26-year-old will be looking to score his fourth victory and draw level with the great Jim Clark, who has the most race wins at Zandvoort.

Dutchman Max Verstappen leads the drivers’ championship by 78 points ahead of Briton Lando Norris and hopes to win his fourth consecutive home race this weekend.

Red Bull leads the manufacturers’ championship with 42 points, ahead of McLaren in second place. After a 36-year break, Formula 1 cars returned to Zandvoort in 2021. The drivers described the track as “crazy” and “old-school”.

Located on the coast and just 30 minutes from Amsterdam by train, Zandvoort’s fast and hilly nature makes it more of a rollercoaster ride than other circuits on the calendar.

When the 4.259-kilometer track was redesigned three years ago for the return of Formula 1, the organizers increased the angle of the first corner, the legendary Tarzan curve, to a difficult 18 degrees.

The tight and twisty 72-lap race puts enormous strain on the tires as the wind blows sand onto the track, reducing grip.
