Andy Robertson, one of Liverpool’s key players, shed light on the mood and words of new manager Arne Slot during his first half-time speech in the Premier League. “He (Slot) wasn’t happy but we knew that,” Robertson admitted. The Scottish defender explained that Slot’s frustration was palpable but the focus was on finding solutions. “He tried to show us how we could be better on the ball and get closer to the ball when they had it,” Robertson added.

Slot, known for his tactical sense, not only expressed his dissatisfaction. According to Robertson, he also offered practical advice on how the team could improve. “He can raise his voice and tell you he’s not happy, but we try to find solutions on how we can do better by showing clips and things like that,” Robertson said.
The half-time speech seemed to have the desired effect as Liverpool came back stronger in the second half. Goals from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah secured the win, lowered the mood at Portman Road and ensured a successful start to Slots’ tenure as Liverpool manager.
While the first half may have been challenging, Slot’s ability to communicate effectively and adapt tactics on the fly will be crucial for Liverpool as the season progresses.
