Netflix’s new serial killer thriller announces huge cast list

Detective Holethe new Netflix series based on the crime novels by Jo Nesbø, has revealed its star-studded cast.

The new series is about the famous detective Harry Hole, who, against the backdrop of a serial killer on the loose, takes on his long-time adversary and corrupt police officer Tom Waaler the hard way.

After the previously announced actors Tobias Santelmann, Joel Kinnaman and Pia Tjelta, Netflix has now announced the rest of the cast of the series: Peter Stormare, Anders Baasmo Christiansen, Kåre Conradi, Simon Berger, Fridtjov Såheim and Eili Harboe are new additions.

In addition, Atle Antonsen, Manish Sharma, Henriette Steenstrup, Jesper Christensen, Kristoffer Joner, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Linn Skåber, Jonas Strand Gravli, Sonny Lindberg and Agnes Kittelsen have signed up for the project, and many more faces will appear.

“Created by one of crime fiction’s greatest storytellers, Jo Nesbø’s Harry Hole is a whodunnit serial killer mystery centered around the famous antihero Harry Hole,” says the logline of the show, which is set to premiere in 2026.

“Beneath the surface, this series is a nuanced character drama about two cops – and supposed colleagues – who operate on opposite sides of the law. During the first season, Harry clashes with his long-time adversary and corrupt detective Tom Waaler.

“Harry is a brilliant but tormented homicide detective battling his demons. As the two navigate the blurred ethical boundaries of the criminal justice system, Harry must do whatever it takes to catch a serial killer and bring Waaler to justice before it’s too late.”

Hole was previously played on the big screen by Michael Fassbender in The SnowmanThe 2017 film also stars Rebecca Ferguson, JK Simmons, Val Kilmer, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Toby Jones.

In the crime thriller directed by Tomas Alfredson, the investigator tries to catch a serial killer in Oslo. His most famous maneuver is the presence of snowmen at the crime scene.

Detective Hole will air on Netflix in 2026.
