LUKE LITTLER finished his debut season in the World Series as the top-placed player.

The teen sensation will go into the final next month in Amsterdam as number 1.

Littler, 17, lost in the final of the Aussie Masters in New Zealand on Saturday to Gerwyn Price and then in the semifinals to Luke Humphries.

But over the course of the series he has reached a total of four finals, winning in Bahrain and Poland and also making it to the end in Den Bosch.

In seven World Series tournaments, Littler managed to collect a total of 50 points for the World Series Order of Merit.

Behind Littler, Gerwyn Price took second place with 45 points.

The Iceman returned to form and won the Nordic Darts Masters and the Australian Darts Masters this season.

In addition, he was the losing finalist at the US Darts Masters.

Rob Cross took third place with 38 points.

The former world champion was able to lift the trophy at the US Darts Masters and came second at the Nordic Darts Masters and Poland Darts Masters.

Luke Humphries rose to fourth place in the World Series rankings with his victory at the New Zealand Darts Masters.

The world champion overtook Michael van Gerwen, who remained in fifth place with 28 points.

MVG was absent from the two tournaments Down Under as he underwent jaw surgery after winning the Dutch Darts Masters in January.

The top eight in the World Series Order of Merit automatically qualify for the World Series Finals.

This event will take place from Friday 13 September to Sunday 15 September at AFAS Live in Amsterdam.
