The Pokémon Company International Announces 2025 and 2026 Pokémon World Championship Locations – Nintendo Wire

The 2024 Pokémon World Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii, are officially over. During the event’s closing ceremony, Tsunekazu Ishihara, CEO and President of The Pokémon Company, revealed news about Pokémon GO, Pokémon UNITE, Pokémon TCG Pocket, and where participants will compete in the 2025 Play! Pokémon season.

Trainers, we’re returning to Anaheim, California for the 2025 Pokémon World Championships! The 2017 Pokémon World Championships will be held here. The competitors who qualified for the 2025 season will likely compete at the Anaheim Convention Center for the world to see. Save the date: August 15-17, 2025!

But that wasn’t the only news about the Pokémon World Championships. The 2026 venue was also announced, and it looks like we’ll be staying in California for another year – San Francisco (where the 2016 Pokémon World Championships were held). The 2026 event will take place from August 28-30, 2026.

Pokémon fans who would like to attend one of these events as an attendee should review the rules for the 2025 and 2026 Play! Pokémon seasons on the official Pokémon website (when they are available). Fans can also attend by purchasing spectator passes, but details on these tickets will be announced closer to the dates of these events!
