Model Sofia Richie Grainge has changed her daily routine since the birth of her baby daughter. The new mother gave birth to her first child Eloise, whom she has with husband and 10K Projects owner Elliot Grainge, on May 20.
And her life has never been the same. The 25-year-old personality opened up about her new chaotic schedule in an interview with The Wall Street Journal on Monday, August 12. Richie explained the evolving developments as Eloise gets months older and that she has to fit her responsibilities into the 90 minutes her baby sleeps.
“For the first four weeks, I was with her 24 hours a day. Now she’s at an age where I give her a sleep schedule so she takes a lot of 90-minute naps during the day,” said the model, who is also the daughter of singer Lionel Richie.
That’s why she weaves her entire life and work into those one and a half hours before Eloise wakes up.
In addition, motherhood has brought new changes to Richie’s personality, which she describes as Type A. “I’m very Type A,” she reveals, adding, “But I’ve also learned that I don’t have to be that way… I’ve learned that I’m more flexible than I think.”
In contrast to her routine, organized, and clean demeanor, Richie explained that she doesn’t have to stick to that even after having a child. She hinted at a new perspective where anything that makes the experience easier is worth it.
Richie truly embodies her Type A personality, not only getting the tasks at hand done but also finding time for leisure activities. “I actually discovered that I’m a scrapbook girl,” she said, emphasizing her love of scrapbooks and puzzles.
As three-month-old Eloise grows older, mom Richie is preparing a special scrapbook full of memories for her baby. She said the scrapbook is for Eloise and she writes down everything she wants to keep for a lifetime.
Richie showed off her puzzle-solving skills and revealed that she completed a 1000-piece puzzle every day during her pregnancy.
In January, the social media star announced her pregnancy to Vogue Magazine, posing for a major photoshoot where she showed off her baby bump. According to the source, she found out earlier in her pregnancy when she did an at-home test after Milan Fashion Week and just before an Ed Sheeran concert she was planning to attend.
The test appeared to show only faint lines. Richie took three more tests to be sure and all of them were positive, bringing Richie and Grainge to tears. The couple were overwhelmed but refrained from announcing the news publicly until Richie was safely past week 21, which she said felt like an achievement. After that, she felt “comfortable” sharing the news with her 11 million followers and the world.
Richie and record executive Elliot Grainge, 30, tied the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony in the South of France in April 2023. They began dating in 2021 and got engaged the following year.
