Dinesh Karthik, the Indian cricketer and commentator, recently found himself in a funny situation when a fan on social media confused him with Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey. However, Karthik turned the confusion into an entertaining quip with his quick sense of humour.

Dinesh Karthik, a former Indian wicket-keeper, was once one of India’s best wicket-keepers. However, MS Dhoni’s strength behind the stumps means that Karthik’s chances are diminishing.

Nevertheless, the boy from Chennai fought his way through and was successful in limited overs cricket and franchise leagues.

He recently announced his retirement from the IPL and was later appointed as the batting coach of his former team RCB. Dinesh Karthik has also signed up as a brand ambassador and player for Paarl Royals for the SA20 season. Karthik is also actively pursuing his side job of commentating.

However, Dinesh Karthik was recently confused with Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey on social media. Massey, who rose to fame with the huge success of the film ’12th Fail’, played the lead role in the recently released film ‘Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba’.

A social media user wanted to congratulate Vikrant Massey on the film but ended up tagging Dinesh Karthik’s social media handle.

Instead of ignoring the mistake or directly correcting the fan, Karthik decided to respond with a playful twist. He replied: “Oh wow!! Thank you”, with two laughing emojis.

Nevertheless, the comparison between Dinesh Karthik and Vikrant Massey is not entirely far-fetched as they both have quite similar looks with their well-groomed beards and charismatic smiles.

This is why such confusions keep cropping up. But this time, Karthik decided to play along instead of clearing up the confusion.
