2024 Wilson County and State Fair attendance figures so far, cooler temperatures forecast

The Wilson County-Tennessee State Fair attracted 230,021 visitors during the first three days of the 2024 fair, including the third-highest attendance ever on Saturday, despite temperatures exceeding 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

The fair at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center in Lebanon began on Thursday and runs until next Saturday.

According to Wilson County Promotions, 145,880 visitors came on the first Saturday, the third-highest daily number when including the years before the partnership with the Tennessee State Fair began in 2021. There were 36,533 visitors at the fair on Thursday and 47,608 on Friday.

The second Saturday of the 2022 fair attracted 163,905 visitors, compared to 160,441 on the first Saturday last year.

The total number of visitors to the ten-day fair was 776,195 in 2022 and 739,315 last year.

The National Weather Service is forecasting cooler, less humid and drier weather for the rest of the week, meteorologist Matt Reagan said.

Temperatures between 30 and 35 degrees are expected on Sunday, and temperatures between 27 and 35 degrees are forecast for Monday and Wednesday. According to the weather service, temperatures are expected to rise to 30 to 35 degrees on Thursday and Saturday.

“We’re looking forward to a great rest of the week,” said Helen McPeak, executive director of Wilson County Promotions.

Hours: The fair opens at 5pm on weekdays, 10am on Saturdays and 12pm on Sundays. Ticket sales end at 9:30pm each evening.
