Creativeland Studios’ Lord Krishna Epic features Amish Tripathi

Creativeland Studios Entertainment will bring the story of the Hindu god Krishna to the world stage with its ambitious new project “Shri Radha Ramanam”.

The aim of the Indian-British-American collaboration is to bring the story of Krishna’s love to an international audience. C. Sajan Raj Kurup, founder and CEO of Creativeland Studios Entertainment, has teamed up with bestselling author Amish Tripathi for this project. Tripathi, known for his “Shiva Trilogy” and the “Ram Chandra” series, has sold over seven million copies of his mythological novels. As the project’s creative director, he brings a wealth of experience in reinterpreting Indian mythology for a contemporary audience.

Described as a “magical tale”, the film is written by Prakash Kapadia and Raam Mori and followed two years of research to ensure that the details in the scriptures and books are confirmed.

Shobha Sant, CEO of Creativeland Studios Entertainment, is leading the production team. The project has assembled a list of industry veterans including mythology specialist Hardik Gajjar, who will direct and whose previous work includes the mythology-based series ‘Siya Ke Ram’ (2015-16). Cinematographer Ayananka Bose, known for his recent work on popular Bollywood films like ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ (2023) and ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ (2023), will be behind the camera.

The film’s visual effects are being developed in collaboration between studios in Vancouver, Los Angeles and Mumbai, tasked with recreating ancient Vrindavan, Barsana and Dwarka. Pre-production and creation of VFX assets are already underway, with principal photography set to begin in November. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release in February 2026.

Creators Inc, the London-based group company of Creativeland Studios Entertainment, will apply its expertise in content curation for the international market to “Shri Radha Ramanam.” Creators Inc recently scored a success when Warner Bros. and HBO acquired the documentary “The Commandant’s Shadow” and released it in theaters.

In the US, David Unger’s Artist International Group (AIG) will represent the film. Discussions are already underway with major exhibitors to potentially make Shri Radha Ramanam one of the biggest releases of an Indian film in the US. This project is an important step in the global strategy of Creativeland Studios Entertainment. The company recently entered into a joint venture with AIG to represent Indian talent worldwide.

Lord Krishna, a central figure in Hinduism, is worshipped as the eighth avatar of the god Vishnu. Known for his role in the ancient Indian epic Mahabharata and as the divine speaker of the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna is often portrayed as a charismatic and multifaceted deity. His legends, especially his romantic relationship with Radha, have been a rich source of inspiration for Indian art, literature and culture for centuries.

Kurup said, “Telling stories from India on a global scale is our mission at Creativeland Studios Entertainment and what better way to tell the world about it than Lord Krishna’s love story, especially in the times we live in now. As they say, love is the best language to heal souls in difficult times. The story of Lord Krishna is one of compassion, love and protection and resonates with audiences across the world. It is great to have Amish and the rest of the strong and passionate global team we have been able to put together to bring this project to life.”

Tripathi added, “Traditional Indian stories have a deep narrative that is fun to get lost in but also teaches you deeper lessons to live better. I love the script of this film, not only for its fantastic scope and research but also how it helps us explore different aspects of love through the story of Lord Krishna. This film will be the definitive love story from India to the world; the love story of all love stories.”
