Blake Lively’s possible cancellation was certainly not foreseen for 2024. Lively, one of the most influential and popular celebrities of our time, has been embroiled in controversy lately. It all started when the press tour for her latest film, It ends with uswas kicked out. In a film that deals with domestic violence, fans found her “publicity” problematic, claiming the actress used the film to promote herself rather than the central issue on which it is based.

In contrast, we have the film’s director and actor, Justin Baldoni, who has become a fan favorite due to his approach to the film and his thought-provoking interviews. As more and more BTS news emerges about their alleged feud during the film’s production, real-life “Lily Blooms” have come out in support of Baldoni.

The drama surrounding Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively seems to be a never-ending web of shocking events and details, with more and more engaging drama from the set making its way into the mainstream as the film continues to pull in strong box office hits. A live-action adaptation of the novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover, the film tackles themes such as domestic violence and more.

While there are reports that Lively and Baldoni had creative differences on set, Lively made creative decisions without Baldoni’s (the director’s) permission (via US Weekly), Lively allegedly felt uncomfortable in the actor’s presence, and more (via TMZ), the alleged feud between Lively and Baldoni is also fueled by the different approaches the duo took in promoting their film.

While Lively described the film as ‘Grab your friends and wear floral prints.Baldoni was more sensitive and thoughtful during the interviews (see X). When comparisons of the duo’s very different approaches to the film went viral, Evie Magazine put together a video featuring all the reactions from fans of the many real-life “Lily Blooms,” most of whom sided with Baldoni and supported him amid the supposedly ongoing feud.

Lily Bloom is a character in the film and the book who suffers domestic violence and a series of traumatic experiences while trapped in a supposed “love marriage.” At the end of the story, she finally recognizes the tragedy of her “love life” and her abusive marriage, ends her relationship with her husband, and tells her daughter that the cycle of violence “ends with us.”

Pretty much since the beginning of the press tour of It ends with usFans, especially victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence, found Blake Lively’s approach to the film problematic. Many of them expressed their disapproval after watching the film Green Lantern Interviews with the star say that the film seems more like a romantic love story and less like a film about a sensitive topic like domestic violence.

On the other side is director and actor Justin Baldoni, who has maintained a serious tone about the film’s subject matter from the beginning and has always answered questions about the film with sensitivity (see X). After the Evie Magazine fan reaction video went viral on social media, several fans supported Baldoni, siding with him while insulting Lively.
