Jurassic World 2 features an “epic” submarine scene

Jurassic World 2 features an “epic” submarine scene

It looks like Jurassic World 2 will take place underwater.

And it’s kind of an “epic” submarine scene.

During the casting call for Jurassic World 2, actor Kevin Layne managed to snag a spot in the audition for a small speaking role… and it seems like he’s happy to share some details.

“I auditioned for two roles and ended up getting the role of ‘submarine pilot’, which I wanted because it’s a pretty epic scene,” he revealed through talent agency MSFT Management. “So I should have a nice cinematic moment on the big screen in a major studio film.”

“Filming starts in May,” he added. “Hopefully I’ll be sitting in one of their incredible contraptions and pretending there are dinosaurs around me. I’ve never worked with CGI before, so it’s fun and challenging. But now I can say to people, ‘You know there’s no dinosaur there, right?'”

So what is this “epic” subscene about?

Traditionally, Jurassic Park films don’t film much above water…but one pretty epic scene in Jurassic World features the giant Mosasaurus. First seen by young Gray Mitchell (Ty Simpkins) as part of the park’s attractions, it later devours one of the park’s attendants and, at the end of the film, drags the injured Indominus rex underwater.

Will any of this be related to the upcoming sequel?

I wonder if Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) will be forced to return to Isla Nublar… and they may not be the only ones. Although she was just a simple assistant, the ill-fated Zara (who was eaten by Mosasaurus) may have been keeping some company secrets.

And after the events of Jurassic World, InGen may be forced to try to bring her back.

But for now we have to wait and see.

Jurassic World 2 stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, BD Wong, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith and Ted Levine.

JA Bayona will direct the film from a screenplay by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly.

“Jurassic World 2” will be in theaters on June 8, 2018.
