Schedule & Results

The Dominican Republic won its first victory of the tournament today in a game that was decided in the first inning. The Caribbean team scored 21 hits and beat Guam 38-1.

Miguel Grullon had video game numbers: He went 5-for-5 with five RBIs and five runs scored. He also had two walks. Angel Nuñez went 3-for-4 with six RBIs and four runs scored. Frandely Rodriguez (3-for-5) had four RBIs.

Jorge Jimenez, Franly Anglero and Starlin De los Santos combined to keep Guam hitless in the game, with De los Santos picking up the win in 1.2 innings.

Ranking WBSC U-15 Baseball World Championship 2024

After yesterday’s debut in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia moves to Barranquilla to play its second Group A match against Puerto Rico. This will be their first match in this age group. Both teams had a triumphant debut in the tournament, but only one of them will remain undefeated. They did not meet in 2022, when Puerto Rico made its debut in the U-15 World Cup. First pitch at 7 p.m.

To close the day in Cartagena, the Netherlands and Mexico will face each other at 7 p.m. Both teams finished their games yesterday before seven innings, Mexico won in five, the Netherlands lost in six. This will be their first game in this competition, as these two teams have never competed in the same U-15 Baseball World Cup before.

The two powerhouses had mixed performances yesterday, with the Asians claiming an easy win over the Netherlands and the South Americans losing to Nicaragua. The last match was on August 1, 2016 in Iwaki, Japan, when Venezuela triumphed 10-8 over Chinese Taipei.

preview – Today’s schedule in Barranquilla continues. Japan and Italy face off at 3 p.m. at Edgar Renteria Stadium. Yesterday, Japan won a three-hour marathon against the Dominican Republic despite allowing eight walks. They will need to pitch better if they want to compete in the tournament. Italy lost to Colombia in Cartagena last night and moved to Barranquilla for the rest of the opening round. The last time these two teams met in the U-15 Baseball World Cup was on August 9, 2014, when Japan defeated Italy 4-0 on the final day of the placement round.

Nicaragua 18 – 1 South Africa – Match by Match

Top4 – Nicaragua continued to score runs, this time with a three-run rally to make it 18-1. Luis Garcia and Jean Catin were the highlights of the inning with two doubles.

Top3 – Another strong inning for Nicaragua. They scored six runs on six hits, including a two-run triple by Junior Gomez and back-to-back doubles by Ludell Espinoza and Johan Saravia. The game is now 15-1.

Top2 – Nicaragua won the game with a five-run second inning. Three hits and two errors allowed the Central American team to score five runs. Enyel Gonzalez hit an RBI double and is now 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Below 1. – Jamie Moran and Ryan Kuyk worked a walk with one out and loaded the bases on a single by Luca Orgill, but South Africa scored only once on a passed ball. Howard Moya replaced Evan Da Souza on the mound for Nicaragua and ended the threat with just two throws, forcing Joshua Cook to throw a double play grounder. The game is now 4-1.

Top1 – Nicaragua took an early lead by scoring four runs on its first offensive opportunity. Enyel Gonzalez added an RBI single, while Eddy Coronado (double) and Johan Saravia (lead-off single) had the other two hits of the inning. Nicaragua is up 4-0.

Top2 – Gustavo Talmare extends the Dominican Republic’s lead with a grounder from Francisco De Marchena to third base. The Dominicans now lead 8-0.

Top1 – The Dominican Republic scored seven runs in the first inning to build a comfortable lead. Six walks, three hits and a few mental lapses on defense allowed the Caribbean team to score seven runs in the first at-bat. The game is now 7-0.
