Apex Legends has been going through a rough patch lately, but the last season has won back some fans. Season 22 also saw a massive restructuring of the meta of Apex Legendsone that has disrupted much of the established order.

After a major controversy over Apex Legends‘ Battle Pass, Respawn has an uphill battle ahead when it comes to regaining the trust of the community. Luckily for the studio, the about-face on the controversial Battle Pass changes went hand in hand with Shockwave’s reworks to boost community morale. Akimbo pistols, class perk reworks, and a new map are just a few of the ways Respawn has breathed new life into the game and its Legends meta. The following tier list ranks each of the game’s Legends based on how well they perform in ranked and unranked Battle Royales, without regard to their performance in Mixtape or Limited Time modes.

S-Tier Apex Legends Season 22 Characters

S-Tier Legends are the best at what they do and the role models of their class.

Unaffected by changes in Apex Legends“In Season 22, Revenant remains at the top. Although his post-Reborn kit is quite selfish, having a bullet sponge with massive movement capacity is always an advantage. He also has two passive abilities, with his extensive climbing being particularly useful in the new E-District map. Crypto is another legend who has seen a resurgence recently, benefiting massively from the upgrade system – particularly his new invisibility upgrade.

Crypto can remotely access Survey Beacons, Death Boxes, and Survey Beacons, gathering an incredible amount of information. His EMP is also flawless, perfect for pushes and thwarting controller legends.

As for controllers, Wattson is another character who benefits a lot Apex Legends‘ Season 22 Improvements. Long-range trap pickups and shield overload are great for Wattson, and her ult has become even stronger thanks to her reworked upgrades. Conduit, despite not receiving any buffs, is still a notable combat healer – with immense long-range support ability. Bangalore is the pinnacle of the Assault class, with a tactical and passive ability that makes her hard to pin down. Her ult is also great, and perhaps the most devastating in the game.

A-Tier Apex Legends Season 22 Characters

• Valkyrie

Legends at this level are either exceptionally versatile or just below S level.

Bloodhound is one such example; they are better at aggressive, mobile reconnaissance than Crypto, but they sacrifice some data collection for an ultimatum with more combat utility. Lifeline’s tactics lack the mobility of Conduit, but their fantastic revive and upgrade tree make them a great choice. Continuous nerfs over many seasons have weakened Horizon somewhat, but their passive is still in top form – and their tactics are fantastic in the verticality of Apex Legends“E-District. Pathfinder is similar in this regard, except its only flaws are its mediocre passiveness and large hitbox.

Newcastle, on the other hand, falls more into the first category, as all of his skills work together to make him an incredible protector. Mad Maggie and Rampart both benefit greatly from Apex Legends‘ recent changes, especially the improvements to shotguns and submachine guns. Valkyrie isn’t quite at the level she once was, but thanks to her ult she remains a great asset to any team.

B-Tier Apex Legends Season 22 Characters

Many legends fall into the B tier and most of them are in a good place here.

Many have also been outclassed in recent years, with Octane and Wraith in particular falling behind in Apex Legends‘ movement scene. Gibraltar, Catalyst, and Caustic are all in the same boat, being weaker forms of other legends that are still solid on their own. Fuse and Loba both have a lot of potential and can serve a team very well, but both have an overly strong tendency to encourage damaging playstyles; Loba players might be lured into chasing loot instead of rotation, while those new to Fuse might find themselves relying too heavily on his tactics and ult.

The upgrade system brought Mirage to the low A-tier, but his illusory escapades have suffered greatly from Apex Legends‘ new Battle Sense feature. Vantage has seen many improvements this season, but she hasn’t received a remedy for her large hitbox and disappointing tactics. Age can be crucial in certain moments, but the downsides to her tactics often lead to strategic mishaps.

C-Tier Apex Legends Season 22 Characters

• Ballistic

• Ash

Seer is a prime candidate for this, even with some recent changes. He’s gotten better since he was massively nerfed a few seasons ago, but he’s still far from the meta champion he was yesterday. On top of that, his tactical’s ability to display health bars has been completely outclassed by the new Battle Sense feature, which essentially gives all legends the same information.

For a long time, ballistics were at the lower end of the Apex Legends‘ roster, but his tactics have been slightly improved this season. Still, he doesn’t really offer enough to tip the scales in a game. Ash is in an even worse position, even with the benefits of the upgrade system. Her tactics are decent, but her ult is often worse than Pathfinder or Octane’s, and her passive is in the current Apex Legends Climate. Her kit should provide synergies for tracking enemies and pushing forward, but her ult is better suited for escaping while her tethering tactics are just OK – making for an inconsistent build overall.
