Heavy storms will return later on Saturday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – We will start Saturday with plenty of sunshine as it will be a warm and humid start with temperatures reaching 20 degrees. Saturday is another FIRST WEATHER WARNING DAY because in the afternoon, scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop across the region, some of these storms being strong to severe. Later in the day, damaging winds, large hail and even an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. It will be a very warm and humid day with highs between 30 and 25 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms will become more frequent towards the evening, when temperatures will drop to 21 degrees. Overnight, things will calm down and scattered showers or thunderstorms will remain. In our region, it will be a muggy night with lows between 18 and 20 degrees.

Sunday will start cloudy with isolated showers across the region. These isolated showers will develop into isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. It will be a cooler day, but still humid, with highs between 25 and 27 degrees. Isolated showers will continue into the evening, and only isolated showers or thunderstorms will remain overnight. Lows will be between 18 and 20 degrees.

Monday will also start cloudy with scattered showers, especially in southern and southeastern Kentucky. A few scattered showers may linger into the afternoon, but most will dry up and become partly to mostly cloudy. It will be a cooler day with highs in the 70s to 75s degrees Fahrenheit and lower humidity. The evening and night will be clear skies and pleasant with lows in the 50s at night.

There will be plenty of sunshine on Tuesday and an early autumn feel. Maximum temperatures will again only reach 25 to 30 degrees. The evening and night will be clear and pleasantly cool, with minimum temperatures between 10 and 12 degrees.

Wednesday will be another beautiful day with plenty of sunshine and just a few passing clouds. Maximum temperatures will again be between 25 and 27 degrees. It will be another pleasantly cool night with minimum temperatures between 10 and 12 degrees.

We’ll end next week with plenty of sunshine and rising temperatures, with highs expected to be between 27 and 30 degrees by the end of next week.
