Madden 25’s list of the best teams isn’t exactly full of surprises upon release. The top spot in Madden 25 is shared by last season’s Super Bowl participants, with Kansas City and San Francisco sharing a high overall rating of 92. At the other end of the scale, the New York Giants are at the bottom of this year’s team rankings with a score of just 75. These are the top five teams in Madden, starting with last year’s Super Bowl winners…

1 = Kansas City Chiefs – 92

The reigning champions are rightfully ranked highly, with both Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce being named to this year’s 99 Club. Read more about them in our Madden 25 best players guide. Other standouts include Chris Jones (DT, 97), Creed Humphrey (C, 92), and Joe Thuney (LG, 91).

1 = San Francisco 49ers – 92

With Madden 25 cover star Christian McCaffrey and an OVR of 99, the 49ers are a force in the game this year. Teammate Trent Williams has the highest possible rating with him. Five other players have ratings of 90+, including tight end George Kittle and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

3 Baltimore Ravens – 91

Good luck taking on John Harbaugh’s team in online matches. Lamar Jackson is nearly impossible to stop with 95 speed, 95 acceleration and a staggering 98 OVR. He also has 94-rated Derrick Henry to hand the ball off to. And then there’s Roquan Smith (MLB, 95) directing the troops on the other side of the ball…

4 Miami Dolphins – 89

5 Dallas Cowboys / Detroit Lions 88

The Cowboys may have consistently underperformed in the NFL, but EA still gives them a good chance of making the playoffs, as they share a total score of 88 with the Lions. Their standout player is shutdown corner Micah Parsons, who has a total score of 98.
