SNL’s Victoria Jackson says she has an inoperable tumor

Saturday Night Live Victoria Jackson shared an update on her health with her fans, and although it wasn’t good news, she couldn’t resist adding some humor to the announcement. Jackson made the announcement herself in a video posted on Instagram.




In the video, Jackson revealed that she now has an inoperable tumor in her windpipe. She explained that medical professionals “can’t operate and cut out the marble in my chest that’s on top of my windpipe, and that I’m ultimately going to suffocate.” Next, she will take a “magic pill” that will “hopefully shrink the marble,” Jackson said. The pill “is based on ribociclib,” which is designed to slow or stop cancer growth.

During her research, Jackson learned that the life expectancy of those taking the drug is about three years. UHF The star expressed how grateful she is for the life she has had, but also mentioned some of the major milestones she still hopes to experience.

“I’ve had a fantastic life,” Jackson said. “You know, we are all dying, but when you see it in print, you still have 32.6 months, it makes you thinkyou know? But I wouldn’t change anything… I want to see my grandson, his name is Jimmy, born in October and get to know him a little bit, and I want my daughter Aubrey to have a baby.”

Jackson’s unforgettable performance at Saturday Night Live from 1986 to 1992, as one of the most popular cast members of the sketch comedy series era. She is also known for co-starring as the wife of “Weird Al” Yankovic’s character in the 1989 comedy UHFHer other TV appearances include The Weird Al Show, The X-FilesAnd Sabrina – Totally Bewitched!. Jackson most recently played a role in the 2023 Christmas comedy Jingle Smells.


Jackson’s cancer diagnosis was made public several years ago. She first revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016. Earlier this week, she shared a video from the hospital where she received a CT scan to see if the cancer cells had spread. As always, Jackson kept her sense of humor, as she noted in the caption of this post: “In a musical, I’d be breaking out in song and tap dancing on the CT machine right now!”
