The ADCC World Championship will return on August 17th after a two-year break and one of the most watched weight classes of the tournament will be the -77 kg.
The -77 kg division was announced on August 16th and wrestlers have just over 13 hours to prepare for their first round opponent. And all eyes will be on Mica Galvao, who is trying to become the second wrestler ever to win the IBJJF Grand Slam and an ADCC World title in the same year.
But it won’t be easy. JT Torres won the ADCC championship in the -77 kg class in 2017 and 2019 and is in the field. While 2022 defending champion Kade Ruotolo will not be there, Dante Leon, who won a medal in 2022, is in the field.
This also applies to veteran Vagner Rocha and current WNO middleweight champion Jonnatas Gracie.
