Jamie Lynn Spears was the second star to leave the series “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” for health reasons in recent days, following Grace Dents’ exit.

Just a few days after the show began, Britney Spears’ younger sister made no secret of her fight in the jungle.

Although she spent a few days at camp, she was upset on Tuesday when her boyfriend Sam Thompson told her she was “reporting false” for announcing she was quitting the show.

In the past, the tear-jerking actor and singer hasn’t exactly had a great track record when it comes to making it to the end on reality TV shows.

ITV confirmed in a statement that Spears has left the show: “Jamie Lynn Spears has left I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! due to health reasons. She was a fantastic campmate who triumphed in trials and got on well with her fellow celebs.”

Threatens to leave

In Tuesday’s episode, Spears broke down in tears again after a good phase and talked about her difficulties in the jungle.

“I hate it here so much, I hate it here so much, I hate it here so much. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it here,” she said.

“This is the place where people go to spend the worst days of their lives. Dear God, please help me to make it. I think I have to go, I think I have to go.”

Her boyfriend on the show, Sam Thompson, joked that she was “reporting falsehoods,” which apparently upset Spears.

She said: “I’m not the girl who cries wolf. I speak honestly about my feelings.”

He replied, “You will never leave. You will be here longer than we are.”

“I’m not shouting ‘Wrong’, I mean it every time I say I want to leave,” she countered.

This happened after she and Thompson developed a close friendship on the show.

Spears has made it clear that she is ready to leave because she misses her children so much. And it wouldn’t be the first time she’s played that card.

When the other campers tried to console her by saying that she’d been through harder times than sleeping in a rainy jungle, she said, “But at least after all that crap, I got to go home to my babies every night, you know? That’s all, that’s all I need in life. It feels a little overwhelming. They don’t even come close to me.”

When asked if she would quit her morning show, Lorraine Kelly revealed: “I think there’s a rule that they have to stay at least 72 hours or they don’t get their money…”

History of quitting

The star of Nickelodeon teen sitcom Zoey 101 took part in the US version of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins earlier this year.

The latest season of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test aired in January 2023, and Spears dropped out in the third week.

The former child star’s reason for leaving the show after just three episodes was that she missed her family. Spears broke down in tears and said she missed her children and that he felt like a “shitty mother” for leaving them to be on the show.

She is the mother of daughters Maddie (15) and Ivey (5).

Fame-snub

Spears may have denied why she signed up for “I’m a Celebrity.”

Although she has her own career as a singer and actress, the 32-year-old reality star is best known to many as the younger sister of pop sensation Britney Spears.

But perhaps Spears wasn’t aware she was in the jungle because viewers and her campmates wanted to hear her talk about her famous sister.

When Josie Gibson tried to talk to her about Britney, Spears kept quiet – which must have been a huge disappointment for the bosses of “I’m a Celeb”.

But since then she has spoken more openly about her relationship with her sister and the conflicts surrounding it.

Emotional struggle

Just a few days after the show began, Spears showed signs that she could not handle the pressure.

The US star, who made headlines when she became pregnant at the age of 16, suffered a tearful breakdown because she felt pressured to have an abortion when her fellow ‘I’m a Celebrity’ contestant Fred Sirieix tried to ask her about her parents.

And in the latest episode of the show, the mother of two cried again because she misses her children.

She said: “I don’t know how I can be so emotionally weak… Why am I crying so much? Josie (Gibson) has a baby at home…”
