Two teams that reached the 2023 Georgia high school football playoffs in their respective classes will meet Friday night to open their 2024 seasons in South Georgia.
Led by five-star tight end Elyiss Williams, Camden County travels to Brunswick looking to avenge a 21-17 loss to the Pirates last fall. The Wildcats posted a 10-4 record and made it to the Class 7A semifinals, where they lost 41-25 to Walton. They then posted a surprise 39-20 win over Mill Creek in the playoffs.
Brunswick finished the season 7-4 and won one playoff game in Class 6A before being eliminated by state semifinalist Marist.
