Luke Bryan’s first album in four years is on the way. On Thursday, the country superstar announced that he will release his eighth studio album. Thoughts of a country boyon September 27th, and released the single “Closing Time in California”.

“You will all finally know what’s on my mind,” Bryan wrote under an Instagram post with a trailer for the album.

In a statement to PeopleBryan explained that he took the time to “really put together songs” for the album and he believes the new tracks really “stand the test of time.”

“I think this album, as I’ve tried to do with all my albums, just has a little bit of everything,” he said. “I’m doing a few things differently vocally on this one that I haven’t done before,” the singer continued. “It’s about every song having its place and meaning. I try not to have too many songs.”

“I think that’s why I’ve been blessed with such a long career and I feel like this album will have the impact it wants,” he added.

The upcoming LP will feature 14 songs, including three previously released singles, including “Country On” and “But I Got a Beer in My Hand.” His last album was released in 2020 with Born here, lived here, died hereNew tracks on the album include “I’m on a Tractor,” “For the Kids,” and “Kansas.”

Thoughts of a country boy will be released at the end of his 2024 tour. Bryan will perform in Ohio on the LP’s release night and in Smithton, Pennsylvania the following evening.
