Exclusively shared with Billboard On Friday (August 16), the streaming service recruited Scherzinger as a mentor and judge alongside judges Payne and Rowland. McLean will host the series. Scherzinger previously served on the jury for The X-Factor, Masked Singer And The Sing-Off.

With his team of experienced boy/girl band experts (including members of the Pussycat Dolls, One Direction, Destiny’s Child and Backstreet Boys) Structure of the band brings together a number of talented singers and tasks them with forming their own bands without ever seeing each other. Isolated in individual booths, they must rely only on musical compatibility, connection, chemistry and merit when selecting their bandmates, a press release states.

“What will happen when the bands finally collide and looks, choreography and style come into play?” reads a description. “With incredible performances, gripping drama and one big goal – to find the next great music band – the stage is set for an unforgettable experience.”

Further announcements about guest judges and the various challenges of the show are to follow. The project is being produced by Remarkable Entertainment and Banijay UK, with Cat Lawson, Alison Holloway, Katrina Morrison, Clara Elliot and Simon Crossley on board as executive producers.

Structure of the band is a brave and bold endeavor for everyone involved as we give singers the power to create their own band based on chemistry first,” Lawson said in a statement. “When looks no longer matter, can they form a deeper connection with their bandmates? With limited bands, there are difficult decisions and heartbreaking moments along the way, but ultimately the result is truly amazing, and bands are formed that I believe are worthy of the very biggest stage.”
